| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Sep 14, 2002 Nice amber color, with a thick long lasting head. Malty smell, with a bit of fruit. Fantastic mouthfeel, light and crisp. The taste is subtle and hard to define...slightly caramelly, but with a sweeter bite to it. It feels like the opposite of the Belgians I’ve tried. While those club you over the head with a variety of flavors, here the flavors are in the background, blended together well. A laid-back beer, if that makes any sense. Goes down very smooth, and I could see making this one of my everyday beers. MadMan (497), Tempe, Arizona, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jan 4, 2008 Bottle. Pours a dark amber with little head. Aroma is sweet, malty, and has notes of caramel...and slightly off vegetable as it warms. Flavor is sweet, full of caramel, and has a somewhat grainy flavor to it. Finish dries out somewhat but leaves a caramel sweetness with hints of chocolate. Mouthfeel is thin and lightly carbonated. Not too bad. ARMed (486), Garnet Valley, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 26, 2003 Very nice clear red amber brew with a moderate bit of carbonation. Poured like a thick syrupy viscosity with no head. Very little lacing as well. But the flavor is very good. Very crisp with a predominatly malty flavor. Slight hint of spearmint as it closes with a smooth lightly bitter finish. Not complex but certainly very drinkable. Would love to drink this beer at a Milwaulkee Brewers game with about 3 hot dogs! That would be the perfect summer day. Thanks CaptainCougar for the local brew! flemdawg (485), Naples, Florida, USA

I have had it twice, once from a bottle, and once on tap. Neither impressed me. I really cant describe it. I am just not a fan of this beer. shendrix (478), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Aug 9, 2007 Overall, a very credible brew. Pours a dark, golden amber with a reasonable creamy head. The palate is a wheaty base overlain with sweet malts, caramel, and cracked, roasted barley. Respectable hops and a nice alcohol warming comes through in the finish. williamherbert (475), Syracuse, New York, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jul 27, 2009 Fluffy, bubbly head. Deep red-orange. So many bubbles they obscure the other side of the glass. Good head retention, tremendous sheet of lace. Bittersweet amber malt aroma; rich malt with a fitting flowery hop. Nice earthy aroma. Strong butterscotch taste at first; rich toffee malt, sweet but dark. Nutty hazelnut, mocha, cocoa, toasted nuts, vanilla bean and light brown sugar. The hops are but an accent. Feels silky smooth like chocolate milk. This is probably the best that Lakefront has to offer that I’ve had so far. Rich, smooth & nutty. booyaatribe (453), Chicago, Illinois, USA
