Feb 9, 2007 Clear copper appearance with a small off white head. Aroma of roasted malts, cookie dough, caramel and ripe fruit. Sweet malts dominate the taste; an earthy edge helps bring out flavors of fall fruits and spices. Smooth, medium bodied mouthfeel with good carbonation leading to a lasting, mildly bitter finish.

Jan 20, 2004 This beer formed a small sized ivory head with fine-small sized bubbles that completely dissipated. The body was transparent and carbonated with an amber hue. The nose was malty and also caramel with a sweet, malty, and caramel flavor. The mouthfeel was smooth and this was a medium bodied beer with mediocre lacing. A very drinkable beer in my opinion and recommended.

Apr 24, 2004 Bottle pours an attractive deeper amber with an off white head. The aroma is malt and floral hops. The flavor has good fresh bread hints, nice citrus like hops, and sweetness. the palate is where this one scores highly, rich and coordinates well with the flavors. Overall, I'm pretty happy with this one.

Jun 2, 2005 Straight from my birthday keg. Wow -- when they say "a generous amount of caramel malt" they aren’t kidding. Aroma is heavy caramel malt. Rich, mouth-coating malty flavor goodness. Very smooth and full, with hops lingering at the end, giving a slightly metallic finish along with tickling, light carbonation. This beer tastes as it looks -- full, rich, and caramelly in a beautiful amber liquid.

Apr 23, 2004 Dark amber with a white head. Aroma is malt with floral hops. Taste is malty, a little roasty. Stick, sweet finish. Slightly mteallic off-flavour, but still a good beer.

Sep 10, 2004 Good looking, deep brown color. Malty aroma with only a slight head. A very clean finish after a hearty, rich mouth-feel. They say it’s an "alt-malt." RateBeer says it’s a Vienna... certainly not the home of alts. What’s the truth here?

Mar 29, 2007 Lots going on here. Slightly sweet and malty. Dry and bitter at the end. Big head and bready aroma. Very good.
