Commercial Description:
The rich amber color and caramel flavor of this beer are derived from the generous amount of caramel malt in our recipe, with just a dash of roasted unmalted barley for a subtle toasted flavor in the background. The sweetness, body, and mouth feel tell you that this is an all-malt beer. The finish has a balanced edge of Willamen and Casade hoppiness which cuts through the malty character, leaving a clean palate which beckons for more. Note: the terminology of "stein" refers to the appropriate drinking vessel and not to a type of beer made with hot rocks.

Bottle. Pours a coppery color and supports a one-finger khaki head that is not going away. Aromas are of sweet malt and floral hops with a little bit of a spicy edge to it. Flavor is decidedly malt heavy... a nice caramel presence with a thick mouthfeel and a bit of a creamy contexture. Hops are present and help round out the finish, but are secondary to the malty body. Very nicely balanced.

The brewery tour is wonderfull! The brewery bartender told me this is their best seller, and I must believe him. Beautiful to see, smell and drink, and i do whenever I’m in Milwaukee.

12 Oz Bottled Feb Wk3. Pour of hazed amber orange, fringes of tawny canteloupe flesh. Oily fringe of white. Rich blow of aroma with freshly grated lemongrass, touches of savory tarragon and a hint of lime-tinged grains. Gentle alcohol glows. On the tongue, a fairly average but quite pleasing soft sweetness from barley esters and lemon water. Fleeting hop dryness. Hints of rusty esters glow in the nose, alcohol detectable. Toasted caramel corners and rising raspberry bubbles. Palate is coaxing, leaving a glistening dab of molasses on the tip of the tongue. Heavily drinkable. Hop balance in plain C is appreciated.

(Bottle via trade with <A HREF=http://www.ratebeer.com/View-User-38026.htm target=blank>buckybeer, thanks Mark!) Nice and malty...Pours burnt orange with about two fingers of biscuit head. Aroma of caramel and pumpkin. Mouthfeel smooth, medium-full, lightly prickly. Flavor is malty caramel and pumpkin with a fair amount of bitterness overlaying. Pretty good.

From the bottle, pours a clear scarlet with a thin white head. Aroma is malty, with grapes, figs, plums, dark fruit. Taste is fully malty, rather rich and with hints of caramel and dark fruits. Thick but clean. Pretty tastey, I’d order again.

12 oz bottle. Pours a dull, dark amber color. Thick head on this. Aroma is malty, toasty. Flavor is malt, caramel, with a slight butter taste.. Butter/cream aftertaste as well. Smooth, and very drinkable.

My favorite Lakefront Brew. Very rich, sweet with a crisp finish. I use this beer to boil brats and in chowders. Gives a great kick to clam chowder. Put an ounce in cup of soup. Wonderful! Also, if you ever have the chance, try their fish fry.

Pours an amber gold color with a small white head that disappeared quickly. Aroma is very sweet and malty with some caramel notes and a tiny bit of spiciness. Flavor starts very malty and grainy and sweet caramel stays in the forefront. Some mild hop bitterness come in at the finish and leaves it somewhat crisp. Medium bodied and moderate carbonation. Nicely balanced Vienna, smooth and refreshing.
