Commercial Description:
The rich amber color and caramel flavor of this beer are derived from the generous amount of caramel malt in our recipe, with just a dash of roasted unmalted barley for a subtle toasted flavor in the background. The sweetness, body, and mouth feel tell you that this is an all-malt beer. The finish has a balanced edge of Willamen and Casade hoppiness which cuts through the malty character, leaving a clean palate which beckons for more. Note: the terminology of "stein" refers to the appropriate drinking vessel and not to a type of beer made with hot rocks.

This is a very satisifying vienna lager. It pours an amber color with a thick and bubbly off-white head. The head leaves gobs of lacing around the glass in a beautiful cascading pattern. The aroma is of toasted malt, yeast and a hint of caramel. The body is fairly thick, but smooth and drinkable. The flavors noted were toasted bread, hops, caramel and some earth. The finish is smooth and even a little creamy. This is one pretty darn good vienna beer.

Don’t know if I’d call this a Vienna with it’s strong emphasis on hops (American hops, no less)--not that that makes it a bad beer or anything. This tastes more or less like an APA without out the fruity ale-yeast character. Amber with a fluffy off-white head. Nose is hoppy with pine, toffee and citrus. Good malt depth but fizzy. I poured my second bottle roughly to dissipate the excess carbonation and that helped immensely. Gently assertive bitterness in the finish. Definitely a quality lager. I could see myself drinking this from a great one liter stein in a beer garden some summer afternoon.

Thanks to buckybeer for this one. Clear dark amber over a choppy off-white head. Sweet, ,fruity, malty. Some diacetyl maybe? Easy drinking.

Thanks to hopdog for bringing this back from Wisconsin. Pours a translucent golden amber with a smaller bubbly off white head that left some lacing. Aroma of sweet malts, toasted malts, caramel and some fruitiness. Flavor of sweet toasted malts, caramel, very clean mouthfeel, some citrus from the hops.

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Pours a hazy amber with a creamy, off-white head. Aroma of caramel and aroma hops. Full, sweet body with a shipload of caramel and some nice, citrusy hops without being particularly bitter. Lovely. 170406

bottle - Pours amber with a one finger head. It smells mildly hoppy along with the expected malts. This tastes well balanced with a nice hoppy bite going well with the caramel malts. This is an enjoyable session brew.

Pours a slightly hazy amber color. Medium off-white, frothy head with good retention. It leaves a gorgeous lacing in my Pilsener glass. Aroma is hoppy with herbal and fruity touches. Apples, mint, oranges some almonds and flowers like roses. Agreeable and solid, very clean and crisp. Flavor is bittersweet, nutty and fruity with hints of apricots, apples and rose hip. Quite enjoyable, flavorful Vienna. Creamy texture, nice velvety mouthfeel. Dry finish with reasonable bitterness. Herbal aftertaste. Very solid lager but I’m not overly impressed for a Top 5 for this style. I’m still wanting to taste some European Viennas.

A million thanks to <a href=http://www.ratebeer.com/View-User-31163.htm&g for sharing this one, my first American Microbrew.

Pours a nice ruddy copper hue with fluffy, quickly dissapating head. Nose is sweet malt. Flavor is similar with a hint of caramel. Just o.k.
