Commercial Description:
The rich amber color and caramel flavor of this beer are derived from the generous amount of caramel malt in our recipe, with just a dash of roasted unmalted barley for a subtle toasted flavor in the background. The sweetness, body, and mouth feel tell you that this is an all-malt beer. The finish has a balanced edge of Willamen and Casade hoppiness which cuts through the malty character, leaving a clean palate which beckons for more. Note: the terminology of "stein" refers to the appropriate drinking vessel and not to a type of beer made with hot rocks.

(bottle) copper with nice off-white head. Sweetish malt aroma. Flavor is sweet malt, easy on the hops.

Thanks Phil for another good beer! Deep orange hazy body. Medium sized frothy beige head. Mild roasty aromas with caramel malt and apples. Sweet malty taste is combined with apples, and slight roasty almost smoked hints. Bread crust too. Good bite in the finish. I liked it. Thanks again Philip!

Bottle courtesy of StewardofGondor. Light amber/orange with decent off-white head. Nice lacing. Lots of sweet malt up front with a fruity hop character in the background. Flavor is just standard amber through and through.

12z bottle. Hazy and golden brown. Vanilla nose, along with a biscuit, bready, yeast note. Sweet, vanilla, malty flavors. Citrus and caramel. This one capped off a long night o’ boozin!

Not Penn Pilsener, but this was a decent Vienna. Very hoppy. Aroma was so so. Mostly caramel. malt. Pour was a standard dark caramel color with a one finger white head. Taste was caramel malt with a suprisingly strong hoppy aftertaste. Borderline APA. As it warms, the hops take center stage and the malt lingers in the back. Good beer.

Pour is amber golden with a light tan head. Aroma is sweet with crystal malt and light hops. Flavor is again very sweet with caramel finishing with very light hops. Well blended brew. May buy again

12oz bottle. Pours a light tan, lacing head with a clear amber body. Smells of caramel and lightly roasted malts. Tastes to me like apricots and caramel. Decent palate.
