Commercial Description:
The rich amber color and caramel flavor of this beer are derived from the generous amount of caramel malt in our recipe, with just a dash of roasted unmalted barley for a subtle toasted flavor in the background. The sweetness, body, and mouth feel tell you that this is an all-malt beer. The finish has a balanced edge of Willamen and Casade hoppiness which cuts through the malty character, leaving a clean palate which beckons for more. Note: the terminology of "stein" refers to the appropriate drinking vessel and not to a type of beer made with hot rocks.

Thanks Phil for another good beer! Deep orange hazy body. Medium sized frothy beige head. Mild roasty aromas with caramel malt and apples. Sweet malty taste is combined with apples, and slight roasty almost smoked hints. Bread crust too. Good bite in the finish. I liked it. Thanks again Philip!

Bottle from Santa. Richly copper colored with a nice off-white head that is moderately lived. Fair lacing. Aroma of earthy hops and some fruity esters. Medium bodied. Bitterness becomes a bit harsh at times, perhaps some husky/tannic notes mixed in. Modest malt background IMO which seems much different than the description given. A fair beer.

Bottle courtesy of StewardofGondor. Light amber/orange with decent off-white head. Nice lacing. Lots of sweet malt up front with a fruity hop character in the background. Flavor is just standard amber through and through.

Bottle poured a clear amber with a small lasting light amber head. Aromas of toasted malt, carmel and a hint of citrus. Palate was light bodied and smooth. Flavors of carmel, some brown sugar and a hint of citrus with a smooth lingering finish.

12oz bottle from the mix pack. Pours cloudy amber with a thin off-white head. Aroma of malt, bread, spice and lager yeast. Malty aroma with some hop, but an overarching tartness that is ruining what may otherwise be a decent beer. Not seeing that in any other ratings, so maybe I got a bad bottle. Will re-rate if I try again and it is better.

12oz bottle. Pours a light tan, lacing head with a clear amber body. Smells of caramel and lightly roasted malts. Tastes to me like apricots and caramel. Decent palate.

Draft. Dark amber brown with a low head. Smells sweet of hops, some toasted malt smell. Bitter crisp taste. Light/medium pallate with a chewy syrup finish.
