Commercial Description:
The rich amber color and caramel flavor of this beer are derived from the generous amount of caramel malt in our recipe, with just a dash of roasted unmalted barley for a subtle toasted flavor in the background. The sweetness, body, and mouth feel tell you that this is an all-malt beer. The finish has a balanced edge of Willamen and Casade hoppiness which cuts through the malty character, leaving a clean palate which beckons for more. Note: the terminology of "stein" refers to the appropriate drinking vessel and not to a type of beer made with hot rocks.

Was hoping to like this more than I did. Very amazingly red. Smells of cherry and cream soda. Flavor is fruity and sweet, didn’t really get any caramel or much in it. Inoffensively average.

Mmmmm. ... malty caramel. But wait, there is more. Piney hops that finish you off. Nicely done, but then again nothing special. Yes, a lot of work went into it. But they ended up with a slightly above average beer,

This brew pours with a deep amber/ Red body topped by a meidum thick off-white head with some lacing. The aroma is slightly sweet and malty with a flowery hoppiness, a slight breadiness and a touch of caramel. Nothing special. The flavor is slighlty sweet yet well balanced with bitterness, with a touch of flowery hoppiness and a slight breadiness. Again nothing special. Meidum bodied and smooth.

Relatively clear amber-copper body, thick puffy off-white head. Cerealy, bready aroma, grassy hops. Toasty, cerealy, grassy body with light sweetness that opens up after a few sips. Nothing remarkable.

Pour is a amber with a fluffy white head. Aroma is a pretty decent amount of sweet and toasted malts. Flavor is caramel with a fresh hop backbone. A decent example of the style and a pretty good beer, especially for this brewer.

Pours a clear glowing copper with a medium thick frothy creamy white head. Sweet toasted caramel malt aroma, toasted honey and a bit sour like wet newspaper. Sweet and toasty malts, seems more crystal than caramel. Sour and metallic, light hop fruitiness and lightly buttery. A nice vienna but not even close to Eliot Ness. Weaker body, watery, soft corse carbonation.

I’m not very familier with this stye of beer. That said, I’m not sure I’d make it a regular part of the rotation. That’s not say it was bad, it poured a nice dark copper color and had plenty of malty flavor, it just seemed pretty average. Worth another shot down the road though.
