Commercial Description:
The rich amber color and caramel flavor of this beer are derived from the generous amount of caramel malt in our recipe, with just a dash of roasted unmalted barley for a subtle toasted flavor in the background. The sweetness, body, and mouth feel tell you that this is an all-malt beer. The finish has a balanced edge of Willamen and Casade hoppiness which cuts through the malty character, leaving a clean palate which beckons for more. Note: the terminology of "stein" refers to the appropriate drinking vessel and not to a type of beer made with hot rocks.

Pours a deep copper orange color, quite clear and effervescent, with a couple inches of light tan head. Decent head retention and lacing. Mellow caramel malt and a bit of graininess in the aroma. Not a powerful beer at all, but really quite tasty. Good malt sweetness with caramel, lightly toasted cereal grain, and a hint of fruit. Excellent balance from the hops – more herbal or floral than bitter. Smooth mouthfeel, gently carbonated, not really complex, but tasty and quite drinkable. Highly sessionable. My second Lakefront beer ever (Holiday Spice being the first), and I certainly enjoyed it. Yeah, I think I’ll be trying more… Enjoyed at Old World Wisconsin

Clear amber-orange color and moderate head. Aroma of caramel, malt and Granny Smith apples. Medium sweet, toasty and a llittle floral hoppiness with more of the hint of apple and some apricot notes. Smooth lingering finish. I was quite surprised by how much I like this.

I like this beer a lot. It has a nice amber color with a good aroma. The flavor is nicely balanced without being too hoppy or malty. It is a good step up from pale lagers: Great flavor without being overpowering. Good anytime of year.

Apperance is a light brown, slightly red color with a off-white head. Aroma is of toasted grain/malt, nuts, and a hint of sweetness; caramel and some fruit. The taste is malt and sweet; carmel and grains with a little bitterness at the end.

This is my favorite offering from one of my favorite local breweries. I’ve had this beer hundreds of times so I’ve decided to review it. In the glass it has a dark orange almost brown hue. The pour from the bartender looked a bit agressive so I got a good two inches of thick frothy head.(she looked rather young) The nose is malty with carmel and a tinge of citrus. The taste just does it for me. Malty and rich. A little citrus bite but smooth all the way through. I like the feel of this beer. It seems robust and hearty. Sort of fills your mouth perfectly. I love this beer.

I’ve had this beer on many occassions and its one of my favorite riverwest beers, it always goes down good w/ a hint of hops and citrus in the flavor and a nice creamy feeling on the way down.

My first "Vienna", tried this after actually driving through the Riverwest area on the way to a friends.. Pours a beautiful dark red/amber color. Aroma is malt with a hint of something else there. Flavor is dominated by Malt, with caramel and roasted tones to it with a crisp citrus hop aftertaste. Overall a bit malty to me, but a damn fine beer.
