jason (1509), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 16, 2008 Bottle. Poured a nice black body. Aroma is light roast. some sourness. Flavor is lightly sour, choclate, roast and some diacytl. Very thin.
sebletitje (362), Tampa, Florida, USA Sep 29, 2008 Pours black, brownish/beige head.
Aroma is roasted, cofee, light notes of dark fruits.
Taste was a little weak. Part of the beer remidned me of the Fuel Cafe that also had a weak finish.
Cofee roastiness floral taste, fruity and lightly hoppy, chocolat malts.
Decent dry stout. CaryTheDude (258), Ripon, Wisconsin, USA Sep 9, 2008 Crushed with Jakebra at the brewery. Mouthfeel is the big compliment for this beer. Otherwise, it’s kinda lacking in all other aspects. Let down. NachlamSie (1383), Tennessee, USA Sep 1, 2008 Bottle born during the 3rd week of January. Pours very, very dark brown with no real head at all. The aroma is dry with earth and black chocolate. Some lactic sourness is also detected. Mouthfeel is par for the dry stout course. Again, we’ve got dark chocolate and some earth in the body. A fair level of lactic sourness is present from start to finish and that just undoes the whole thing for me. I can slow sip this one to get through the glass while I grill, but I probably won’t be coming back to this one. thejoeshow (129), Saint Paul, Minnesota, USA Aug 6, 2008 12 oz bottle. Pours a deep dark brown/black color with a nice mocha tan head that provides moderate lacing. Aroma is sweet chocolate malt with a slight hint of coffee at the end. Smells very tasty. Flavors range from roasty at times to burnt coffee and chocolate. It has a slight astringency in the beginning that grabs my tongue and tries to mess up the whole sip. It does throw me off a bit but not enough. If you can get by that "pointy-ness" it’s a fairly nice beer. Other than that it has a nice mouthfeel and is a fairly easy drinker.
Jwasciuk (181), Greenville, Michigan, USA Jul 19, 2008 Pours muddy dark black with an average light brown head. Aroma is mderatly malty or dark bread and toasted malts, lightly hoppy and moderatly yeasty of leather. Flavor starts Balanced twords bitter, roasty flavors prodominate and continues till the finish. Light to medium bodied, creamy and lively carbonated. Its just ok.
