Dark caramel aroma. Alcohol aroma takes over as it warms. Flavors of caramel and slight toasty/nutty flavor. Finishes with a slight off bitter taste. Overall one of the better reds I have had. badgerben (3605), Blaine, Minnesota, USA

| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | May 8, 2004 Dark brown color with well, brown highlights. No head save for a small ring of bubbles on top. The flavor focuses on malt sweetness, there’s caramel along with apricot and grape notes. Slightly chocolately finish. The aroma is tough to pin down, especially in this smokey bar. I’ll call it caramelly with a touch of fruit. In any event, the aroma certainly wasn’t jumping out of the glass.
This beer is probably supposed to be an easy-quaffing session beer but I think it’s too sticky sweet to be enjoyed in large quantities. JCapriotti (1378), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 17, 2004 Enjoyed on tap outside the Nomad whilst watching people and listening to a guy play the harmonica. Red/orange or mahogany body. Light-brown cremy head. Light hoppiness in aroma is hard to detect. Overall taste is a sweet fruity bitterness with a touch of caramel and coffee. Bitterness seems to come from lemony hops. Also gives me some nice hoppy burps. Pretty good overall... better than I expected. kmeves (1081), Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin, USA

So stopped in after the tour today and finally tried this. It's a beautiful little red. While Wolski's is still the coolest bar in Milwaukee, Nomad gained some after Lakefront points just for this beer. Pjones6738 (500), Madison, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 22, 2003 This amber beer, while not bad, is nothing special. I can see this being an inoffensive session beer, and I was able to drink mine quite quickly. If you take the tour at Lakefront Brewery, you'll get a coupon for a free Lakefront beer at one of four Milwaukee bars. In my opinion, its worth redeeming that coupon at the Nomad to try this beer, but I can't say I'd drink it regularly.
