radiomgb (1776), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada Nov 17, 2004 Deep amber in colour. Aroma was malty(cookie dough) with some peppery spiciness. Flavour had some slight roasted malt, minor butterscotch and some light chocolate. Medium body, medium carbonation. Finishes with a spicy bitterness, slightly dry. Not bad. Lubiere (3324), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Aug 29, 2004 Dark brown ale with a nice moka head. Sweet vinous aroma with lightly fruity notes. Sweet pungeant malt fragrant hops, with a light alcohol warmth in the end, Good bodied. Eructoblaster (1266), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada Aug 9, 2004 Dark brown color with ruby glints. Its head is a nice one: thick, dense, lasting, beige. Fair malty aroma with hints of brown sugar and roasted coffee. Taste is well balanced, warming and pleasant. Various flavors of malt, coffee, chocolate and molasses. Decent dry and bitter final. Very drinkable, but not conform to the usual characteristics of brown ales. beerbuzzmontreal (2747), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Jul 30, 2004 Murky and deep brown color with a thick, well laced beige head. Nice aroma of molasses. Sweet brown sugar flavor balanced by a roasty counterpart, bitter finish. Light to medium body, sticky mouthfeel. A strange and unusual brown ale, but interesting nonetheless. tiggmtl (4179), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada Jul 23, 2004 Sweet brown sugar and some funky buttery diacetyl. Dense tan head that recedes to cover. Butterscotch flavour is overtaken for a roasty, bitter finish. Medium-light body, somewhat watery and still. Cloyingly sweet but not undrinkable. Bottle.
