Lubiere (3324), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Jan 4, 2006 At Festival Bières et Saveurs Sept. 2005. A one shot deal. Red copper ale with no head. Malt grain and grassy aroma. Sweet malt in mouth, with sharp German hops. Like a Vienna but less nutty than expected. Medium bodied. Still, a decent beer. MartinT (4377), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Sep 5, 2005 The Lure: Roasted grain and fruity esters escape an apparently lifeless vehicle. Pils yeast is perceived, and seems early into the lagering process.
The Festivities: Complex hop bitterness surprises as none was felt prior to sipping. Grainy malt fruitiness roams within, alongside subtle caramel and roastiness. Body is thin, but there is a nice flavor interplay going on, there are definitely some good ideas in here, just not mature yet.
Transcendence: The first falling leaves disappoint, but a few more on the ground could soon create a beautiful panorama. Miguel (1181), Sorel-Tracy, Quebec, Canada Sep 4, 2005 Robe rousse surmontée d’une mousse blanche fugace. Arômes légers de caramel et de noix. Saveurs de malt caramélisé. Houblon de soutien.
