MrRomero (1881), Wiesbaden-Biebrich, Germany Jul 7, 2007 33cl bottle: the beer I’m drinking is not a blonde beer but more like an abbey dubbel. Same label as the previous label. The new bottle picture is mine. Poured dark brown with a large tan head. Looks much like Westy 8. Big malt and dark fruit aroma. Raisins and prunes present. Flavor is quite nice except for the nasty metallic notes. Dark fruits and malt abound. A touch too much alcohol presence. Moderate sweetness in the finish. Nice beer and hopefully by the time I’m finished with it, the metallic notes will have disappeared. fiulijn (5860), Como; Lausanne (CH); Malmö (SWE), Italy Apr 20, 2005 Golden to amber color; the head is not persistent enough. The aroma is malty with a touch of oranges. Quite sweet and malty taste, a bit too alcoholic. In the end there is a touch of sweet liquorice and not enough hopping. Quite standard Belgian Ale.
