Deep sandy red, hazy and wearing a small off-white cover. Fresh malt aroma not unlike fruit flavored cake or bread. Crushed perfumey nutmeg, rather buttery in a scottish way. Pleasant hoppiness. Comfortable mouthfeel. Typical well balanced Amère à Boire lager.

The biscuity pale malt nose is followed by healthy fruity caramel...Spicy hops and these cohesive malt flavors lead to a balanced realm of nourishment and drinkability...Who else in North America but L’Amère à Boire would offer us such a rare style (a 15-degree Czech polotmavé for crying out loud!) for a refreshing Christmas?...

Orange red in colour. Nice vinous nose. Sweet malts in tatse with notes of raisin, caramel, some light hops. Rich body

Mildly spicy hops play nicely with the caramel in the nose. Almost opaque amber-brown with decent, large-bubbled, off-white head that recedes to generous cover with some lacing. Caramel and toffee malt flavours dominate with a spicy hop flavour and decent balanced bitterness. Engaging carbonation on the tongue. On tap at the brewpub.

Ruby brown body, small off white head. Sweet estery-fruit in aroma, muted spice? Very similar flavour, notes of fruit, toasty malt and moderate bitterness. Average palate. Pleasant.

Pours a cloudy, reddish color with a thin creamy white head. Spicy aroma including cinnamon. Subtle flavor of spices and fruit with a sweet finish. Medium body, smooth palate. Very good, I make sure to sample it every year in the Christmas season.

Verre de dégustation à la brasserie. Arôme: Odeur de caramel et d’épice. Apparence: Couleur ambrée. Carbonisation faible. Petit col qui forme une dentelle sur le verre. Saveur: Goût d’épice et de caramel avec légère touche de sucré. Palette: Aucune amertume en bouche. Très agréable à boire. (Rating #50)
