Fred82 (344), Montreal, Quebec, Canada Aug 14, 2009 On tap at Amère à Boire, Pours clear pale amber with a small head. Great lacing. Nose is grain, bready and hoppy. Taste is very malty with a nice bitterness all along the profile. Finish is very malty with a fine bitterness. Malt is very present. There is also a hint of fruits in it. Maybe passion fruit or pinneaple or something. This beer is a perfect pilsner (I’m no pilsner expert though). Perfect for hot summer. Utterly refreshing and drinkable yet very satisfying in taste. I dream of buying a keg of this and pour myself a glass each day after work ! JoeMcPhee (4893), Jackson Heights, New York, USA Jul 4, 2009 Light golden beer. Thin head. Aroma is light and spicy. Citrus and zesty hops with a similar character as in the helles, but the hops here play a more prominent role. Soft lingering betterness. Another awesome lager. Diogène (543), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada Jun 22, 2009 On tap at l’Amère à boire Clear golden with a medium frothy white head with good retention and lacing. Aroma is an awesome mix of malt and noble hops with a tiny note of caramel. Flavor is crisp malt and noble hops. Medium body. I’ve never been to Czech Republic or Germany so I’ve never had a fresh european pilsener, but this one is the best Pilsener I’ve had. Very refreshing, yet well malted and hopped. robinvboyer (1419), Sturgeon Falls, Ontario, Canada Jun 9, 2009 On tap at the brewpub.
A great example of a good pils. Crisp, with a great balance of hops, and that amazing bready grainy, maltiness that i love in a good lager. This brewpub is a lagerheads wet dream. j12601 (1151), Poughkeepsie, New York, USA Apr 11, 2009 On tap at L’Amere a Boire. Pours a clear orange amber with a medium white head. Light crisp citrus notes, with a bit of yeast, and grain and malt. Thin to medium bodied, but on the creamy side due to the carbonation. Finishes with a bit of a metallic bitterness and grain. presario (2953), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Mar 15, 2009 Sample, maybe a big one. Amber. Minimal head but still a delicate lacing.
