Gusler (2656), Tucson, Arizona, USA Nov 14, 2007 The beer pours a clear amber from the 33oml bottle, head is smallish, evaporates quickly, leaving a patchy bit of lace. Nose is sweet, earthy with a musty aroma, start is quite sweet, top is medium in feel. Finish is flat, sweet, dry, and different. First of this style I have tried, drinkable, 7 percent ABV, do not quite know what to make of this beer.
sebletitje (404), Tampa, Florida, USA Oct 12, 2008 Pours hazy amber, off-white head.
Aroma is fruity.
Taste, fruity, clearly of berries. Some nice touch of malts(caramel), leaving a nice sweet fruity after taste.
Nothing special, but still very drinkable. baggio (60), stockholm, Sweden Oct 11, 2008 Bottle@home
Apperance: Red-brownish with almost no head.
Aroma: Caramel, Yeast, Berries, Rye.
Flavor: Malt, Caramel, Hint of juniper, Fruit, Berries, Dark bread.
Palate: Very stale brew with almost no carbonation. Very sweet but has a slight hint of bitterness at the end. Quite belgian in character, esp the yeast.
This is not really a true sahti but normal beer with added juniper-berries from what i reckon. I actually kind of like it. Makes for a quite nice dessert-beer. Very different! faroeviking (4414), Faroese Autonomous Beer Republic, Denmark Sep 22, 2008 Botella. Thanks Patrik mate. Bit unclear deep amber. Malty and caramel juniper aroma. Good mouthfeel. The flavour has a pleasant caramel seetness with fruits and malt along with a mild sourness and some spice. Plesant different brew. Alcohol well hidden. mrdasilva (108), Helsinki, Finland Sep 6, 2008 No head, coppery color. This is some pretty heavy stuff. Full of malts and very sweet. Flat palate. Alcohol is present which is never a good thing. The aroma reminded me of some German doppelbocks. carruthm (434), Seattle, Washington, USA Sep 4, 2008 V - somewhat murky orange color with zero zero head.
A - malts, caramel, slight trace of juniper tempered with some honey
T - sweet sweet malt with the juniper, caramel elements. Juniper more evident on the after taste. Almost pumpkin-like spices during the height of the flavor.
P - oily, lite bite
