Deep coppery pour with ruby edges, and a great creamy, off-white head. Aroma of caramel malt, hops, vinous fruit, cherry, red grape, even some blueberry hints. The taste is caramel malty, fruity, vinous, with nice complexity and a nitrogenated mouthfeel. Very smooth and quaffable, I would have called this a red ale based upon its fruitiness, but lets compromise and call it a damned good brown ale. Earlier Rating: 3/10/2006 Total Score: 2.9 Draft at brewpub. Coppery brown colored with some aroma of caramel malt, almonds, and sligh brown sugary fruit. The palate is medium to light, with malt, caramel, nut, and some brown sugar hints. freekyp (903), Thomasville, North Carolina, USA

British malt characteristics immediately apparent in nose. Malty flavor light at beginning, rising as swallow finishes. Fresh floral scent. mild lacing. Bitterness appears in mid swallow, and dissipates quickly. Deep tart finish lasts into aftertaste. Nate (2558), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA

Medium body, medium carb. Pleasing fizziness. Hoppy (not as much as brown ale) and malty, with some acidic bitterness. Smooth nutty finish. Almost a weaker version of the brown ale. jcwattsrugger (5567), Florida and, New Jersey, USA
