Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a ruby caramel color with a small orange-white head. The aroma is light sour malts with a dry grainy element and a hint of floral hops. The flavor is moderate dry grainy malts with a tangy middle and a hint of floral hops on the finish. A dry bitterness that I believe is rye is lightly present.

Poured a clear amberish hue with a nice off-white head that hung around a bit. You could definitely smell the sweet, bready malts. Not as hoppy as others in this style, but it is still very drinkable and is a good dinner beer with some PA dutch home cookin.

This has a nice clear appearance. The aroma is sweet and malty with some hops. The flavor follows suit, a little toffee taste to it, with a bitter finish. As the beer warmed a bit, I could taste more of both the grains and malts. Quite drinkable.

Thanks to Pailhead for the 12 oz. bottle via a recent trade. clear amber with a BIG foamy head. aroma is sweet caramel and some yeast. flavor is more of the same with some sweet syrup and mild citrus notes. one of the mildest hopped APA’s I’ve ever tried. additional hops would help to balance the sweetness.

On tap at Zia Maria’s in PA Dutch country. Pours a clear mahogany into the glass with a diminished head and little lacing. The most offering on the nose seems to be of confectioner’s sugar, with a touch of damp earthen hops. This is decently hopped, nothing overdone, but indicative of the style. I do pick up some earthen flavors, maybe with a touch of sweet malt intermixed. As the beer warms, I think I also grasp some light melon and orange notes. The finish is lightly hopped and somewhat oily. Not a very complex brew, as I really had to search for all the individual offerings. I wasn’t as impressed with this as I thought I would be, for as an APA, it does seem rather light in comparison with great offerings of the style.
