Pours light amber with a small, off-white head. The aroma is caramel, rye, very sweet and malty. The flavor is similar with a touch of citrus at the end. Medium body.

This is a nice session beer. Nice dark amber and good head. Could use more hops to offset the maltyness.

Poured a nice dark amber color with a satisfactory head. The aroma was an interesting mix between rye and wheat more than anything. The flavor was pretty neat, as the barley, rye, and wheat were all detectable. Finished with a malty bitterness that was enjoyable, but I didn’t think the bitterness was due to much hops.

Purchased this 12oz bottle at Total Wine in McLean, VA. Pours a clear orange color with a thick white head. Light hops aroma with a smooth, earthy hops taste. Not as potent as say, SN Pale Ale, but still pretty decent. I’d call it a light pale ale.

A light brown color. A decent head. It goes down smoothly and somewhat syrupy. Earthy. A beer’s beer, good but nothing special. Nothing I’d look for on a regular basis.

Nice amber color. Good amount of head. Sweet and malty I get....but I would not really call it complex. Not a bad brew. I think refreshing is a pretty good overall descriptor. Balanced.

Pours with a frothy, two-finger thick, light tan colored head that consists of largish bubbles sitting atop a tighter froth. The beer is a brilliantly clear, ruby tinged, amber color. The aroma is a mix of caramel / toffee notes and earthy / spicy hop notes. A solid malt / grain background is here in the aroma; the sweeter malt notes give way to notes of toasted grain, biscuit notes and a crusty bread-like notes.

The beer has a fair hoppiness to it; lightly bitter from the get go, the beer also has a spicy hop component to it that seems to be a mix of earthy herbal notes and a lightly sweet citrus note. Notes of toffee intermingle with sweeter caramel notes, both of which combine as a counter point to the more dominant hop notes. The beer finishes with a bitter bite that is a mix of hops and carbonation. This beer strikes a really good balance between the malt character and the hop character; as a Pale ale the hops are dominant, but there is ample malt character to be found. While the other grains are not dominantly noticeable, I think that the oats and rye add a bit to the body of this brew. The beer has a nice, though light, heft to it and it seems to cling to the palate just so.

Definitely a nice brew. As the beer warms up a bit the other grains used seem to make themselves a bit more noticeable. A complex mix of grain notes seems to start in the middle and actually lingers on through to the long finish of this beer.
