Um, a slightly sweet and bitter taste at the same time. Kind of confusing actually. I don’t know if I like this beer. It has a nice finish, but it is odd. 5000 (2600), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 21, 2006 Clear, bright amber body with moderate carbonation and a fading, sudsy white head. Malty sweet aroma with notes of toasted bread crusts, caramel, and light rye and spice. Nice characters of rye, malt, and wheat in the flavor plus some moderate bitterness. Finishes semi-dry and clean. A nice refreshing, light bodied, malt-focused beer with ample character. Good session beer. Hawksfan17 (717), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Apr 1, 2006 Pours a strange amber gold. It has a very interesting nose, smells of toasted caramel, burning grains, and citrus. It is bitter, but subtle, it just sneaks up on you. Very complex hop flavor, you really taste all the different "grains". DJMonarch (6941), Northwich, Cheshire, England

| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Feb 28, 2006 12 oz bottle. Pours a dark amber with a small fleeting beige head. Aroma is predominatly caramel and toasted malt with some floral hops. Very muddled flavor, bland lightly bitter hops over a caramel malt base. Finish is sweet and unremarkable. Mouthfeel is thin with almost an extract like syrupy finish. Carbonation is at least fine bubbled and pleasing. Overall, one of the least hoppy Pale Ale’s I’ve ever had. Maybe better classified as an Amber ale. This needs alot more hops and a crisper cleaner palate. outerupt (133), Richmond, Virginia, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Feb 25, 2006 12oz. bottle. Pours muted amber brown with a light cream coloured head. Dandelions and a hint of orange peel on the nose. The initial flavour is mild caramel and a round mouthfeel from the oats used with a light hop presence. The finish is distinctly rye-centric which becomes a little overwhelming as it builds with each sip. Overall a pretty nice beer though not exceptional. IndianaRed (1560), Boise, Idaho, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 20, 2006 Bottle Poured a dark coppery amber with small sandy colored head. A little lacing. Basic medium dark slightly roasted malts. A fairly full feel but uninspiring flavors overall. Slightly chalky fell at the end and very little trailing biterness.
