Bready cookie dough aroma has a touch of piney hops. Body has some sweet caramel and butterscotch with a nice subtle hoppy balance. A smooth and drinkable APA. | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 24, 2005 Decent sized off-white head. Kind of big and bubbly. Nice hoppy aroma with some floral hops abd a nice roastyness. Mingels well together. Light carbonation. Nice bright orange amber with very good clarity. Bitter orange flavor with a little bit of malt. Slight sourness in the stomach. Lively palate. The sourness is misplaced. Rough bitterness in the finish. Palatable but not much better. Strong on hops and malt, a great...well, is it a pale ale or IPA? Doesn’t matter. A great drinking beer. hershiser2 (923), Charlottesville, Virginia, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Oct 25, 2005 Bottle. Pretty brownish amber with a small, think tanish head. Lots of maltiness in the nose. Flavor... this is where we come to a strange and thoughtful pause. Where my initial reaction was that I thought this was preety bad, as it warmed, I started to enjoy it. Flavors of dandelions, lettuce, cabbage, and hay all mixed in together really stand out. Definitely scored an additional point for being original, but I’m still not looking forward to trying another.
