Caramel, toffee and grainy aroma, very little in the way of hops. Nice, complex malt profile ranging from toasted nut flavors down to caramel, toffee and a mild roasty character. No real hop character, but that’s OK to me in this beer. A great session beer. themadmumis (344), Westminster, Maryland, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Jul 24, 2005 Not your typical Pale Ale. A distinctive flavour that should be tried at least once. I won’t recommend this because I don’t particularly enjoy the grain taste, however others may enjoy. mephisto (1144), Taiwan

Nice English PA aroma with solid malt and some Goldings hops (I think). Nice dark amber color and a creamy head. It really has an aroma and taste of a good english pale ale or bitter. I like this style and it is done quite well here. Nice body and carb, fitting in well with the interesting mix of malts. Nice stuff. Nejhleader (929), Lemoyne, Pennsylvania, USA

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jul 9, 2005 I had this on tap at the brewery and what a floral and fruity experience. I though this was a great Ale making use of the wheat to create esters that played off the malt and hops. Extremely well balanced. If you are in Lancaster take the opportunity to stop by the brewery and try this ale fresh it is not to be missed. AlchemistZ (493), Richmond, Virginia, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 18, 2005 Orange/amber in color with a thin, orangey white head. Aroma of toasty, grainy malt with a caramel foundation and a sweet yeast fruitiness. Flavor of an English bitter. Solid bitterness, big ale yeast fruit, some grain complexity, and an encompassing acidity with a toasted grain trailing long into the finish (this is the only distracting flavor component of this beer). A good interpretation of an English ale but with a slightly overly creamy palate. BuckNaked (1204), Tempe, Arizona, USA
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 5/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | May 10, 2005 Bottle: Slightly opaque orange/amber with tiny bubbles and a creamy, long lasting white head. Aroma is slightly sour? with notes of caramel & biscuit malt, lemon rind. Medium bodied, light carbonation. Taste is spicy and sweet up front, followed by sour citrus (lemon, grapefruit, orange), acidic honey-coated grains, dough, cereal. I’d almost think this was infected, but I see that others have noted the sour citrus flavors in their ratings and questioned the quality control. So I’ll keep my rating.
