| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 5/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | May 10, 2005 Bottle: Slightly opaque orange/amber with tiny bubbles and a creamy, long lasting white head. Aroma is slightly sour? with notes of caramel & biscuit malt, lemon rind. Medium bodied, light carbonation. Taste is spicy and sweet up front, followed by sour citrus (lemon, grapefruit, orange), acidic honey-coated grains, dough, cereal. I’d almost think this was infected, but I see that others have noted the sour citrus flavors in their ratings and questioned the quality control. So I’ll keep my rating. meathookjones (245), Sterling, Virginia, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 7, 2005 12 oz bottle with no date on it. This poured out a deep orange color with an inch high off white foamy head that left minimal to no lace through the session. A very different roasted grain aroma rose from this pale ale that was quite interesting. There was a good sweet malt presence as well as earth toned hops providing some familiarity to the scent. A bit of sweet and doughy malt is first tasted before the roasted grains kick in with a strong flavor. There are notes of earthy hops through out and an after tasted that is roasty and bitter to finish this one out. A very different overall take on the pale ale that is refreshing and welcome. Mouthfeel is smooth and clean with about a medium body. Drinkability is pretty good overall but the grains do become tiring after a while. I will definitely have more of this in the future but really can’t down more than 2 or 3 in a sitting without the taste becoming old. jon112981 (327), Chevy Chase, Maryland, USA

Bitter hops and sour citurs. Grapefruit maybe, slightly floral. Bitter hops with the same citrus notes in the flavor. Biscuits and sweet caramel. Some lemons. Nutmeg. Smooth palate with a bitter, citrus filled malt finish. BückDich (4851), McCall, Idaho, USA

The flavor is sweet & floral with light hops & a tangy medium body with a rich malty note. The finish is nutty with some diacetyl. pivo (2537), Germany
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Mar 13, 2005 Sweet grain nose, amber-gold color, foamy biege head. Cereal tastes and a complex grain mix, caramel - sweeter than bitter. Abrupt dry hop bitter towards end, though. Decent, full bodied. rhapsouldize (174), Phoenixville, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 11, 2005 Tap at brewery. Pours a crisp, clear amber with a lacy off-white head. Not much of an aroma--slightly floral and hoppy. Good lacing. Good balance of malts and hops. Notes of citrus and flowers in the flavor. BBB63 (4232), La Porte, Indiana, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Mar 3, 2005 Bottle: Poured to a nice amber hue with a long lasting head and excellent lace. The aroma has notes of sweet fruits (ripen apple, berry, and watermelon), rich caramlized malts, and floral/herbal hops. The taste has a surprising lactic finish after a nice dose of sweetness and moderate bitters. Sort of ruined what was going to be a high rating. The feel is also altered by the mettalic and sour feeling that lingers well on after you finish it. This starts promising but is ultimately a letdown. (Note that the ratings for this beer are all over the place and may indictate a quality control issue.)
