| 2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 7/20 | Sep 13, 2004 Pours a cloudy amber with an annoying volcanic light beige head, took forever to pour-this better be good. Lots of suspended particles. Aroma is malty and lightly floral. Taste has notes of caramel, citrus, butterscotch, and a solid hop presence. It is moderately sweet then leaves a bad acidic, bitter, metallic sour aftertaste. Mouthfeel is intensely fizzy and harsh. Didn’t like this one at all. Sammy (4051), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Sep 11, 2004 grainy pale. Darker, citrus peels, toasty, nutty. Above average. Some hops and oil in there. Not your British pale, more a blend with an American IPA. I notice the more experienced raters rate this higher and therefore can appreciate it. Thanks Mr_kimchee.

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 6, 2004 This is nice. Aroma reminded me of rye toast. Rye was evident in the flavor as well. A nice ale with a different flavor twist to it. rajendra82 (704), Alpharetta, Georgia, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 27, 2004 The beer arrived in a 12 oz. bottle. The beer seems way overcarbonated, and struggled to settle down into the pint glass as the four inch foamy head refused to die. The aroma was like a honey roasted breakfast cereal and begged me to take the first sip. The taste was mellow and sweet with grainy, bready overtones, and a floral hoppyness that was definitely playing second fiddle. The mouthfeel was quite a bit thicker than your average APA, and quite sticky and cloying as the beer was rather poorly attenuated. The rye and the oats overpower the wheat and barley in this beer and show up as liquid bread fit for breakfast consumption. A pleasant beer, but does not make me want to run out and raid the barn for a few more bottles. NYHarvey (2154), New York, New York, USA

Translucent amber in color. Big malt taste. Sweet caramel overtones. I love malty beers so this hit my palate just right. Perfect mouthfeel for a basic ale.
Liked it a lot. Rockinout (946), Kent, Ohio, USA

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Jul 27, 2004 Amber with a foamy beige head. Aroma is mildly sweet and some hops. Nothing remarkable. The mouthfeel was thin and watery with some carbonation. Flavor was fruity and slightly sweet. Somewhat refreshing.
