The aroma is of grains, and a hint of warm bread. The taste is much of the same, but with some spicy notes. This was ordinary, but very drinkable. Chipper (193), Red Lion, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 28, 2008 Draft at Lancaster Brewing. A light amber color with a small head. Not much aroma other than a little hops. Flavor was a little hoppy and a little malt. Drinkable and smooth. afireinside96 (841), Mountville, Pennsylvania, USA

Smells of butterscotch and dough. Grainy bread flavor, some butterscotch, spicy, earthy, no noticeable hop character. More of an English pale ale than America. Decent session ale. moseslikesbeer (183), conestoga, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Aug 17, 2008 bottle. Very dark brown color for a "pale ale". Had a very earthy aroma. Almost smelled the dirt. Very malty.Bar far the most "malty" of any Pale ale I have had to date. I’m at odds with this one because I really enjoyed the beer but I don’t think it lives up to the "pale ale" title at all so I’m not sure how to rate this one. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 5, 2008 This was a smooth ale with not too much flavor to it. Subtle hops at the end allowed for a nice finish on this amber colored ale. smjohnst (203), , Pennsylvania, USA

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 26, 2008 Nice dark amber in appearance. Aroma has nutty malt component to it. A slight citrus bitterness begins on the tounge which changes slightly to a roasted malt bitterness. Not a bad brew but I’m not sure if I’d get it again. GuilTTy (538), Cherry Hill, New Jersey, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jul 17, 2008 Bottle. Clear copper pour under a thin and quickly dissipating off white head. Faint caramel aroma. Mildly toasted malt and vanilla flavors. Lacks balance as there are no appreciable hops. Texture is on the oily side and the finish doesn’t have that crisp finish you look for in a pale.
