Four Grain, woo hoo. Even the beer world is going on the whole grain tip. Now we need a hearty 12 grain squash nut brown. Nice balance, mild body and flavor. Easy, not much character.

Bottle. This here’s a session beer, plain and simple. Mild hops, but not hard to find, clean finish, light golden color. It’s a little boring, but blows away a BMC anyday and goes down just as smooth. A real low expectation winner.

Bottle - from sampler pack. Copper color. Good flavor. Not too strong. Relatively hoppy.

Bottle. Body is a brownish copper and supports a smallish head that fades away quickly, leaving some traces on the sides of the glass. Aromas are sweet and fruity... apple juice and a touch of lemon and grass. Flavor has a funk to it that I find unalluring... something akin to finding that someone had put dishsoap in my beer. Flavor reminds me of the smell of fermenting apples that are lying on the ground in fall and pie cherries.

Bottle. Pours a clear amber with good carbonation and a nice light tan head with excellent retention and good lacing. Aroma is muted; light citrusy and grassy hops, some sweet malts in the back (stronger and toastier as it warms); a little soapy. Flavor is malty but dry. This is definitely a malt showcase, having a relatively complex, grainy malt flavor with the hops added mostly for bitterness/balance. Some fruity (cherry, grape) notes. Finishes dry, though a bit thin and sour. Mouthfeel is medium and carbonation is moderate; fairly smooth. This is kind of in between a pale and an amber ale. Not bad; an easy drinker.

12oz bottle. Can’t agree that this is a pale ale - not that I care that much, but it’s more of an amber based solely on hop level. The bottle I had was extremely overcarbonated, with a tan, muddy colored head forming over a muddy and murky dark red and brown colored body. Nose of soggy yeast and old banana and oranges and toast. Flavor is less of this soggy grain and more of a tasty grains and hay, very sweet, with some dryness as well. Heavy dough and yeasy presence, very bready, but not hoppy at all, really.

dark hazy amber, whispy beige head, strong carmel malt aroma with lots of floral hops, nice toffee and carmel flavor, light chocolate, touch of sweetness, a really nice blend of malts, just a touch of balancing hops and light bitterness but it’s all about the malt

Rating: 3/5.0

Frothy beige head...reddish amber with a smidge of brown looks like a watered down pepsi...bit of lacing...simple aroma and taste....a mild malt smell, but quite faint....thin body, easy to drink....the essence of cherries, tartness and a touch of sour..Food paring------>gril chicken and scallops, caramelized BBQ sauce and hot sauce....onion and garlic and mixed veggies...great with spring trickling into summer
