Sampler, at Lancaster location. Pours a cola brown body with a small beige head that retained as a thin ring. The nose is cocoa and light dry dusty roasted malt. A little bit of licorice and coffee as well. Pretty bitter for a Baltic Porter, and there’s quite a heavy roast flavor for such a light colored beer. Lots of dry roasted grain with coffee and very dark bitter molassas. A little lighter bodied with a dry finish and a slightly husky grainy courseness. Overall, this was a fairly decent drink, but it didn’t really jive too well with the style for me. It lacked the smoothness most notably that I expect from a Lager.

Pours pitch black with a thick beige head. Arom of oatmeal, roasted malt, coffee and chocolate. A lot of oatmeal up front followed by roasted coffe and chocolate maltiness and a swet creamy finish.

This dark brown pour was very light and thin. Roasted malt, toasted nose with much of the same in the flavor department. It simply was not rich enough for me.

Draft @ Capone’s. Dark brown pour with a medium head Aroma of roasty malts and some chocolate. Taste has some coffee, chocolate, dark malts and a bit of licorice. Not bad at all - one of the better Lancaster brews I’ve tried.

On draft at Capone’s. Pours brown with a dcent size light tan head. Aroma of roast and chocolate. The flavor is chocolate, sweet, roast, and coffee. The body is somewhat thin, however this brew is drinkable, but easily forgettable.

On tap at Blue Dog Pub in Lansdale. Pours a deep brown with amber highlights and an average creamy tan head that left some lacing. Aroma of brown sugar, some roasted malts and chocolate. Flavor of brown sugar, roasted malts, coffee and chocolate. On the dry side with a touch of honey.

Draught Lite brown body with big head. Aroma is weak with a slight malty tone. Sugary taste with a sweet malt backbone. Had an odd balance to it. Not bad but I had to wait awhile for it to warm up and become enjoyable.
