Excellent Lacing. Smelled of roast and choclate. Malty flavors of molasses, choclated, and nuts, with resiny ops, and a bit of smoke. Easy to drink. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 20, 2009 Sampler, at Lancaster location. Pours a cola brown body with a small beige head that retained as a thin ring. The nose is cocoa and light dry dusty roasted malt. A little bit of licorice and coffee as well. Pretty bitter for a Baltic Porter, and there’s quite a heavy roast flavor for such a light colored beer. Lots of dry roasted grain with coffee and very dark bitter molassas. A little lighter bodied with a dry finish and a slightly husky grainy courseness. Overall, this was a fairly decent drink, but it didn’t really jive too well with the style for me. It lacked the smoothness most notably that I expect from a Lager. stegosaurus (1882), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA
