On tap at Doc Holliday’s. I’m not a big hefeweizen fan, mainly because of the strong signiture clove-banana flavors from the yeast. However, when I saw this on tap, I realized that the only hefeweizens that I’d had were bottled, so I gave it a try. I was pleasantly surprised. The clove-banana flavor was somewhat muted, ar at least not as strong. Nice color, fizzy head, but OK for the style. I declined the slice of lemon or orange that was offered, but I can see how either would enhance this beer on a hot day. Still not big on hefeweizens, but I did enjoy this one on tap.

I had this on tap at the brewery and the beer had an aroma of cloves, banana, and lemon. It poured a hazy yellow and the head dissapated quickly. The flavor is of cloves, bananas, and lemon. The first batch of this beer brewed in 2005 lacked some of the banana flavor and the second one had a much more pronounced flavor.

Hazy straw colored brew with an absent head. Aromas of bananas, clove, coriander, yeast, and lemon. Nice, hefty body with a pronounced yeasty component. Very solid American hefe.

sampled this at the h-burg brew fest. i’m pretty sure this was the one at least. One of the better beers that was in the VIP tent. Did have a bit of a banana smell. went down smooth with a great taste. Went back form some more but the keg was kicked so had to drink some wierd apricot beer instead.

Murky golden beer with slight head and aroma. Light bodied beer with clove and lemon zest flavor.

A decent hefeweisen...cloudy yellow appearance, little head. Flavor like a typical hefeweisen, with the citrus and clove notes. Easy drinking because it’s not overly carbonated.

Draught at brewery: Poured a cloudy/hazy yellow, with a spare, diminishing head. Excelent lacing. Aroma of banana and corriander. Flavors of citrusy hops, banana, clove, honey, nutmeg, and pumpkin. Flavor was sweet and spicy. Easy to drink with medium body and average carbination. Overall, a nice, spicy hefe, though not true to the styles origins.

Draft @ Gibraltar in Lancaster...Hazy golden hue with a pronounced banana/wheat nose. Fruit, cloves and yeast on the palate. Perfect balance, moderate white head and ideally carbonated. Just great on a hot day...An excellent hefe!!!
