Sweet taste that mirrors the nose perfectly. One of the better wheat beers I’ve had. muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 14, 2004 Sample at the brewpub. Completely opaque, hazy gold, bit of head. Wonderful aroma that is banana-dominant but also contains hints of apple, caramel and cloves. Soft but chewy body...bananas, apples, lemons...thick and full. Definitely one of the best American hefes I’ve sampled, top-notch. dberger624 (1028), Phila, Pennsylvania, USA

Undercarbonated, light body. guzzler67 (1289), Hanover, Maryland, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 10, 2003 Cloudy, unfiltered appearance with a nice sized head. Yeast flavors come through on the mild side, but lack the depth and smoothness of many authentic Bavarian style hefe's. Braudog (3789), Dayton, Ohio, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 17, 2003 Solid opaque orange-yellow with the classical banana aromas. Nice 'chunky' and yeasty beer with fruity flavors. It's a pretty authentic to Deutsch weizens. freekyp (906), Thomasville, North Carolina, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | May 4, 2003 Light banana in nose. Sweet initial taste with moderate bitterness arriving mid swallow. Cloudy maize color with little head retention. Nate (2573), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 5/5 | 11/20 | Jul 29, 2002 Very strong and alluring aroma - banana and bubblegum, vapory and sweet. Almost too much aroma. A coppery honey color, cloudy, with small lacing head. Medium carbonation and medium body. The taste was a little disappointing after the nose. Had nice wheat beer flavor - banana, wheat, yeast, but had an odd bitterness to it - maybe from the sediment? Individual element ratings aside, the whole package was a little disappointing.
