May 31, 2004 Muddy orange/gold body with a little white head. Sweet nose with apples, bananas, and wheat. Sweet taste that mirrors the nose perfectly. One of the better wheat beers I’ve had.

May 14, 2004 Sample at the brewpub. Completely opaque, hazy gold, bit of head. Wonderful aroma that is banana-dominant but also contains hints of apple, caramel and cloves. Soft but chewy body...bananas, apples, lemons...thick and full. Definitely one of the best American hefes I’ve sampled, top-notch.

Jul 27, 2003 (draft): Hazy body with small white head. Aroma is fairly sweet, banana, lemon, light wheat and clove. Taste is mildly sweet, lemon, light banana, faint yeast. Finishes light grassy. Undercarbonated, light body.

Jul 10, 2003 Cloudy, unfiltered appearance with a nice sized head. Yeast flavors come through on the mild side, but lack the depth and smoothness of many authentic Bavarian style hefe's.

Jun 17, 2003 Solid opaque orange-yellow with the classical banana aromas. Nice 'chunky' and yeasty beer with fruity flavors. It's a pretty authentic to Deutsch weizens.

May 4, 2003 Light banana in nose. Sweet initial taste with moderate bitterness arriving mid swallow. Cloudy maize color with little head retention.

Jul 29, 2002 Very strong and alluring aroma - banana and bubblegum, vapory and sweet. Almost too much aroma. A coppery honey color, cloudy, with small lacing head. Medium carbonation and medium body. The taste was a little disappointing after the nose. Had nice wheat beer flavor - banana, wheat, yeast, but had an odd bitterness to it - maybe from the sediment? Individual element ratings aside, the whole package was a little disappointing.
