| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 12, 2008 Tap at the brewpub. Very cloudy ugly yellow-brown pour with a fast fading fluffy white head. Aroma is beautiful though. Loaded with fresh banana esters and a faint backdrop of clove and allspice. Nice fresh wheaty spiciness over the top as well. Full-bodied and thick with loads of light banana flavour/clove and bready wheaty character. No flaws, and the rich wheaty malt base really makes this stand out. Well-done. | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 27, 2006 Draft. Pours the color of pulp-included grapefruit juice, with a great aroma with banana, clove, bubblegum, and hopcitrus. The flavor starts citric, then thrown the bubblegum, banana, and spices at you, in that order (at leats that was the order for my tongue). Smooth and crisp at the finish, this one got growlered by me. muzzlehatch (4427), Burlington, Vermont, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 14, 2004 Sample at the brewpub. Completely opaque, hazy gold, bit of head. Wonderful aroma that is banana-dominant but also contains hints of apple, caramel and cloves. Soft but chewy body...bananas, apples, lemons...thick and full. Definitely one of the best American hefes I’ve sampled, top-notch. Braudog (3766), Dayton, Ohio, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 17, 2003 Solid opaque orange-yellow with the classical banana aromas. Nice 'chunky' and yeasty beer with fruity flavors. It's a pretty authentic to Deutsch weizens. michael-pollack (2691), King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 25, 2004 Draught at brewery: Poured a cloudy/hazy yellow, with a spare, diminishing head. Excelent lacing. Aroma of banana and corriander. Flavors of citrusy hops, banana, clove, honey, nutmeg, and pumpkin. Flavor was sweet and spicy. Easy to drink with medium body and average carbination. Overall, a nice, spicy hefe, though not true to the styles origins. Nate (2552), Indiana, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 5/5 | 11/20 | Jul 29, 2002 Very strong and alluring aroma - banana and bubblegum, vapory and sweet. Almost too much aroma. A coppery honey color, cloudy, with small lacing head. Medium carbonation and medium body. The taste was a little disappointing after the nose. Had nice wheat beer flavor - banana, wheat, yeast, but had an odd bitterness to it - maybe from the sediment? Individual element ratings aside, the whole package was a little disappointing. alexanderj (2263), Chino Hills, California, USA
