Hop aroma, amber color. Nicely hopped, but also has a burnt malt taste - interesting. Slight stickiness in finish. Overall, quite good, with a different angle. obguthr (1067), Poquoson, Virginia, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | May 3, 2007 Bottle; clear orange-amber. Minimal whitish head. Aroma of grapefruit, caramel malt, some pine and sweet pineapple. Flavor was much of the same, with a pronounced sweetness. Tasted of some dry hopping. Hop presence throughout, but not at all overdone. Pretty impressive version. Immy (1912), Virginia Beach, Virginia, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 12/20 | Apr 25, 2007 I’m not an IPA fan, but this is a good brew. Yes, it is hoppy, both up front and in the finish, just as advertised. But rather than the harshness that many brewers think are reuired for an IPA, the citrus hops in this brew blend well with the grassy notes that swirl through the brew and come through in the finish. Nice. awaisanen (1279), Irvine, California, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Apr 23, 2007 From a 12oz Bottle. Rated Blind. Pours a very clear, transparent golden amber color with some very gentle ruby hues. A thin layer of quickly dissipating white head floats on top. Moderately hoppy aroma of red pine resins and some soft pineapple tropical fruit notes. Lots of pine, but not overly edgy or harsh. Light bodied, crisply carbonated mouthfeel. Some light piney hops start out the flavors initially, but this quickly gives way to a thinly disappointing malt body. The hops aren’t bitter enough to cover up the flavors of toasted corn and husky rye bread that coats the tongue. A metallic hop character leaves behind some unpleasant residue in the final smack. Very thin and overattenuated tasting. Disappointing. xskinyx (6), USA does not count | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 13/20 | Apr 23, 2007 Flavor comes on a tad strong. This beer really has a kick, but surpisingly doesn’t taste of alcohol.
