Pours a clear ruby/copper color with a frothy white head. Hops spring from the glass. Mild hoppy taste. Kind of creamy as well. Floral notes. Alcohol is masked a little bit, and no bitter finish. Not a bad IPA. spkldhenlvr24 (466), Newburgh/Buffalo, New York, USA

Nice Caramel, mild hoppy aroma with some floral scents. Grapefruit, malty caramel flavor. Thin/medium mouthfeel. Slight alcohol burn which was kinda unpleasant. Lighter weak finish. Pretty good. tockeyhockey (2), USA does not count | 5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 20/20 | May 23, 2006 this is the most unique IPA i’ve ever tasted, bitter, but not over-poweringly so, it has the most beautiful color i have ever seen -- caramel brown with a nice thick head. heavy handed with the alcohol content! 5000 (2640), Hardened Liver, Washington, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 20, 2006 Bottle: Deep amber, hazy, moderate frothy light beige head, spotty lacing. Old grapefruit on the nose, slight waxed bottle candy tinge. Doesn’t seem like much of an IPA to me. Some resemblance on the tongue of an IPA, mild hop bitterness, mildly sweet. Has an odd finish, waxy, somewhat like those wax lips. Fairly malty, but the hop aspect is low and the odd bitterness is high. Moderate body and mouthfeel, somewhat creamy. Finish has loads of stale/old grapefruit. Meh... not what I look for in an IPA. Thanks for sharing danem!

I don’t know if this was the class or not, I’m thinking not now. The aroma was soapy hops with a bit of a malt flavor. color was darker than typical ipa, pretty copperish. flavor was also very soapy. palate was medium, but heavier than average ipa. worst ipa I’ve had in US blankboy (3260), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 16, 2006 Bottle courtesy of Thaichile. Pours a clear sparkling amber with an average size diminishing off-white head. Nice sweet and hoppy aroma with spices, citrus and enough malt backing it up. Great juicy flavour of citrusy and resiny hops with some sweet malt and spices and a long bitter finish -- man this is tasty and refreshing! Medium bodied. This is incredibly easy to drink, what a pleasant surprise this beer is -- great stuff! gputty (456), Virgina Beach, Virginia, USA

As IPA micros became popular, it was imperative that each new incarnation bite you just a little more than the last one out there. Hop Hog has just enough hops to let you know you are drinking an IPA, but stops short of clubbing you over the head with it on every sip.
