Pretty good helping of malt. Darker than expected...deep copper/light brown. I would have never guessed it was 7.9%. I would have had another. radagast83 (1317), Fairfax, Virginia, USA

The aroma is lovely with generous amounts of citrus and pine hops. The flavor is actually lightly hopped and there is a very strong malt character. Much more then other American IPAs. It feels think in the mouth and the hops are nicely round. Overall a nice IPA but a little heavy on the malt for me. Walt (2289), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Mar 24, 2006 Pour is nice ruddy amber with a nice thin dense tan head...smell is hoppy at first with some pine and lots of citrus notes...some nice bready malt in there too...taste is sweet and strangely tart up front, almost berry tart...turning subtley bitter at the finish...I am very shocked this is almost 8%! What a treat! warrior (213), Mt. Wolf, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 22, 2006 Very good hop aromas with crystal malt in the background. A deep dark and clear amber color with a full cream colored head that hangs for a while with good lacing. Very good hop bitterness and flavor with a nice malt sweetness that balances the hop bitterness for a good bittersweet finish. A very good medium body and very well made IPA. This is my favorite Lancaster beer that they make. They have come a long way from when they first opened. hiphops (280), caldwell, New Jersey, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Mar 20, 2006 Bottle. Pours a hazy amber with a creamy head that diminishes to about 1/8". That small head holds all the way down to the bottom of the glass....nice! Malty caramel and interesting tropical fruit aroma. I pick up some caramel and even some grape juice flavors in the malt profile, offset by some medium hop bitterness. Lighter side of medium mouthfeel. Sweet, crisp and bitter finish,. A very easy IPA to drink, and the malt profile made this one rather interesting.
