Strong citrusy hop taste with a solidly dry finish. Good enough malt base to keep it from getting carried away as hop juice. tiggmtl (4311), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Nov 22, 2005 Orange-herbal hops float above strong caramel sweetness. Clear brownish copper coloured body with a low white head that recedes rapidly to ring. Orange citrus hops and plenty of sweet caramel malts in the flavour. Somewhat dry, medium-light body with a somewhat metallic finish and moderate carbonation. Bottle sampled with MartinT, Olivier_MTL and Rastacouere.

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 19, 2005 Reddish amber with a lasting thick head. The aroma and flavor are strongly of citrusy, fruity hops with malt in the background. The mouthfeel is full, without being too sweet. I must announce here that I have a bit of a problem with the American IPA. Too often they taste quite the same. There is nothing wrong with this beer, and I will rate it highly as it is delicious. But... it does not stand out from the crowd of hoppy, citrusy IPA’s. Lots of aroma and flavor hops, not enough bittering hops in my opinion. Again, I like this, and it will take it’s place among the increasingly crowded company of heavily aroma hopped American IPA’s.
Delicious and recommended. SuIIy (1500), Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Nov 11, 2005 12oz bottle from PineyPower. Pours a mellow light amber color with a creamy off white head. nose is caramely, grapefruit malty hops. very nice. quite sweet. Taste starts out fizzy, turns very dry hoppy bitter, some light citrus rinds, finishes rusty? its kinda hard to describe, but something is off a little bit. a very odd sensation at the end. aside from that, a solid beer. thehinge (247), Wilmington, Delaware, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Nov 11, 2005 Lots of hops in this brew. The aroma of pine hits you on opening the bottle. I do like the taste a a great deal....I taste some caramel in the front and the hop bite in the finish. Which is what I like about IPA’s. Another beer I’d recommend to hop heads....as have others here. Delsym (31), Vinton, Virginia, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 3, 2005 Bottled. A solid IPA from a great and (I hope) up and coming regional brewery. Nice copper color, good fluffy head, decent Brussel’s lace, and (most importantly) a wicked hop bite that any hop-head will appreciate. It was defintely worth "smuggling" a six pack of this down to GA from a recent trip up to NJ. Try this beer! Pigfoot (2226), Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 3, 2005 Hazy amber coloration, ample off-white suds above...
Warm, hoppy nose, immediately reminds me of an English-style IPA, rather than that new-fangled American version...fruity and bitter...apples and melon, apricots, and berries...an interesting melange, going on, here...I like it.
Taste: also likable...juicy and fruity, and never too bitter, bursting with flavor. This is the style of IPA that was the first beer I ever loved, and it was represented then by Summit IPA. First brew that really commanded my respect, and eventually, my loyalty and devotion. And this here delivers that same flavor...
Medium bodied, lightly bitter finish...very tasty.
If I were a Pennsylvanian, this would definitely be among my favorite locals, and have a regular slot in the fridge...

| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Nov 1, 2005 The Lure: Earthy, resinous hops simmering in sweet apple and pomegranate juice. Grapefruity ideas and caramel depths. Pretty malty for an IPA, but the hops don’t come together to my tastes.
The Festivities: The dry bitterness somewhat clashes with the slick, sweet crystal malt. Some oranges and peaches lay around, surprised at the very low carbonation. An ultimately uninteresting IPA, probably not aging well.
Transcendence: If you’re not in great shape, running too fast will get you tired real quick.
