Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy medium brown color with a large tan head. The aroma was strong fruity hops. The flavor is also strong fruity hops with a moderately thick malty undertone and some light caramel notes. The finish is dry and hoppy. Not a bad offering. goldtwins (4080), Nesconset, New York, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 13, 2005 Poured a hazy copper color with a small cream colored head. Aroma of caramel, sweet fruity malt, hops, and a touch of alcohol. A nice and pretty balanced mixture of caramel, piney hops, and alcohol. Nice bitterness on a sweet finish. adrian910ss (1421), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Aug 12, 2005 Pours a bronze copperish color with a beige creamy head. Smells of pine needles and hops. At first sip, I thought this was a Victory Hop Devil, as the two beers are very similar in color and taste. Tastes citrusy, with an abundance of hops and pines in the flavor. Overall, an excellent IPA. Holdwine (908), Beertimore, Maryland, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 11, 2005 A nice malty IPA. That’s right, with alll the great Cascades in here, it was the roasted malt that made this a great beer. Darker than a normal IPA, and probably not 100% true to the style, but I loved this ale. jeffin7 (610), Silver Spring, Maryland, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 8, 2005 Pours amber with a thin head that stays. Aroma is citrus hops and a moderate deep caramel maltiness. Flavor is piney, citrusy hops and a caramel malt. I don’t know if its a bad bottle or a common characteristic but I am tasting a cardboard. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 6, 2005 Medium amber, nice head. Big citric grapefruit and pine nose, pleasant. Flavor matched, pine resin and grapefruit, with a balancing toasty, at times roasty malt. Good stuff. Sirjohn03 (39), New Jersey, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Jul 30, 2005 bottle: amber color, white head that diminishes quickly. A very hoppy aroma. This is a very nice IPA with a strong hop taste from start to finish. The initial taste of the hops is strong and finishes slightly sweet, but dominated by the hops. Never could tell it was 7.8% ABV jmuhops (663), Winchester, Virginia, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jul 29, 2005 Pours dark amber/red with a two-finger head that doesn’t stick around. A bit of lacing. Excellent hop aroma, more floral than citrus and pine, which is odd for an American IPA. The pine and citrus is still there, though. The hops dominate the flavor from start to finish but are backed by a nice malt profile. The flavor has some of the floral qualities of the aroma, making it a bit different from a lot of other IPAs. Good stuff.
