Commercial Description:
A mighty lager-style brew, dark in color. Our Doppelbock brings a big malty sweetness together with the classic lager smoothness, topped off with a slightly evident alcohol flavor. A toasty brew to battle even the coldest winter nights.

Draft. Pours medium brpown with khaki head. Aroma of heavy scotch malt, caramel, some figgy fruit. Fairly dense and complex palate, with a lot of malt flavor coupled with some figgy fruit and molasses notes. Well hidden alcohol. Nicely done.

I really did enjoy this beer, even though I only had a smaller sample of it. It was a dark brown color, almost in line with Optimator, and the malt profile was delicious. Give this one a try if you can find it.

(cask) The aroma was pure cherry. The color was a cloudy copper, with very little head. The flavors were of cherries and chocolate, very pleasant. The palate was incredibly smoothy, with just a touch of bitterness at the end.

(cask) No head atop a hazy copper body. Aroma is moderately sweet, maple, cherry, some caramel. Taste is moderately sweet, cherry, caramel, some chocolate, light alcohol. Medium-full body, no carbonation, alcohol fairly well hidden.

On tap. Not too much on aroma, short-lasting head. Garnet color. Very smooth, rich flavor. My favorite of all of LBC’s beers.

Nice brew. This seemed to be the crowd favorite with the group I was with. As described, malty and sweet. Worth a try.

I had this on tap at the brewery. It poured a dark amber color with a tan head that had good retention. It has a malty aroma with a hint of chocolate. There was a hoppy flavor mixed in a malty flavor of toffee and chocolate.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a translucent but deep amber with a great tan lacing head. Aroma is roasted malts, caramel and toffee. Flavor is similar to the aroma. More of the roasted malts coming through in the taste. This was well done.
