Commercial Description:
A mighty lager-style brew, dark in color. Our Doppelbock brings a big malty sweetness together with the classic lager smoothness, topped off with a slightly evident alcohol flavor. A toasty brew to battle even the coldest winter nights.

(cask) No head atop a hazy copper body. Aroma is moderately sweet, maple, cherry, some caramel. Taste is moderately sweet, cherry, caramel, some chocolate, light alcohol. Medium-full body, no carbonation, alcohol fairly well hidden.

Draft. Pours medium brpown with khaki head. Aroma of heavy scotch malt, caramel, some figgy fruit. Fairly dense and complex palate, with a lot of malt flavor coupled with some figgy fruit and molasses notes. Well hidden alcohol. Nicely done.

Sample at the brewpub. Clear dark walnut, lasting ring of orangish head. On cask. Grapy-caramel nose, sweet but robust. Amaretto-cherry-caramel on the tongue, extremely smooth and sweet without being cloying. One of Lancaster’s best.

On tap at the brewery. Pours a translucent but deep amber with a great tan lacing head. Aroma is roasted malts, caramel and toffee. Flavor is similar to the aroma. More of the roasted malts coming through in the taste. This was well done.

Sampler, at Lancaster location. Pours a clear dark brown body with light carbonation. Nice clean malty aroma with some light coffee and roast, sweet and thick smelling. The flavor is just as clean. Slightly sweet but not overbearing, light roast, light-roast coffee, and a nice clean crisp finish with just a little lingering sweetness. Medium to full bodied with nice soft carbonation, nice hearty texture. This was pretty darn good.

Tap @ LBC - Dark amberish bronze, tan creamy head. Nose held malty notes of toasty caramel, dark fruit, and hints of smoke. Well balanced flavors with a nice touch of hops late. Full bodied, soft carbonation, malty finish. Best brew of the evening...

On draft at the six pack store. Pours brown with a small compact tan head. Aroma of caramel, dark fruit, and alcohol. The flavor was slightly sweet, caramel, with a nice alcohol punch. Great body, good brew.

Darker brown with a medium tan head. Roasty, sweet aroma. Taste is malty-sweet with a medium body and a decent finish. Decent D-Bock.
