Commercial Description:
We are proud offer one of the few surviving examples of this traditional English style sweet stout. A bold, dark ale bursting with roasted barley dryness and mellowed by hints of chocolate and coffee.

Bottle. Pour is a dark brown with quite a big head and a very roasty aroma. Scorched malt with a touch of dark chocolate. Flavor is more like milk chocolate and burnt malt, but it is fairly subdued and could be a little fuller. As is, this is really nice but comes off as a bit thin for my tastes.

bottle. pours very dark brown with a medium tannish head. smells sweet and roasted barley. taste is mild, chocolate. mild is the key word here. not much of an influence on the taste buds. average.

Not very bold, very light and mild, could be much better if it was "denser" or had a thicker mouthfeel. OK, but could be much better.

Bottle! Pours a deep dark brown with a small tan head. A very tasty stout beer with a sweet, creamy flavor with a mild mocha coffee finish. Mild hop flavor mixed in. Very good.

12 oz Bottle. Aroma glows of creamed coffee, grits, and salted cheese rind. Perky, yet mellowed. Pours a paler dark brown, with an oily slick of tan above. Flavor moves softly, with gentle touches of milk chocolate, half and half, and sweetened tea. A light bite of roast and flash in the pan thought of skunkiness. Alcohols build some complexity among the residual sugars, but this beer is a bit washed out, in terms of flavor. Backs out on light dryness. Decent.

12 oz bottle. Dark brown with a fluffy tan head. Nose of woody brown sugar and mild coffee. Medium light body with zesty carb. Taste is coffee and cream, light sugar, with an orange tang. Finishes with a touch of licorice.
