Commercial Description:
We are proud offer one of the few surviving examples of this traditional English style sweet stout. A bold, dark ale bursting with roasted barley dryness and mellowed by hints of chocolate and coffee.

12 oz bottle, Black. Smells great, with a hint of fresh coffee grounds. Dark, but not too thick. Very smooth and creamy. Taste is mostly coffee... a little chocolate ? Goes down WAY too fast and easy.

12 oz. bottle. Poured opaque black with little head. Sweet malty aroma - almost molasses-like with hint of coffee that gets stronger as it breathes. Body is much thinner than I expected. Flavor of strong coffee and extremely bitter finish with dry, roasted aftertaste. To me, this tastes almost like really bad, really old coffee made into beer. Very unpleasant finish and aftertaste. The best thing about this beer for me was the aroma, which belies the thin body that follows.

Opaque black pour with a medium beige head. Roasted malt aroma. Flavor is sweet and malty with notes of coffee and cream. Very smooth, milky mouthfeel. Very nice.

Dark with some head. Aroma a little bitter and woody with a hint of sourness. Taste is about the same. A bit creamy with a nice body. Good flavor and has a bit of sourness.

This is part of a beer club. Had only one bottle but was decent for the price. Poured great and had a nice finish. Would do again.

Bottle. From sampler pack. Very dark and opaque. A good stout. Pretty much roasty flavor, but could use a bit more body.

Bottle: pours a dark black with a thin head, as someone else mentioned, this has a strong roasted aroma to it, taste of roasted barley and a little sweetness, too thin of a mouthfeel for a stout. Not bad but probably not something I’ll buy again.
