black, wispy tan head that can be roused into a thick brown mass, roasted malt aroma with a slight tartness like soured milk, sweet and sour malt flavor, light roasted character, bad sample?

Nice dark color, decebt reddish head. The refreshing aroma of Chocolate/Coffee was welcoming. Interesting finish, but not perticularly good. An okay stout. Goodgrief (1153), Middletown, Delaware, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 19, 2007 Aug 2005 - Beer poured dark brown with a nice reddish brown head. Aroma and taste was of dark roasted malt with some coffee and a touch of chocolate. Nice depth of flavor and complexity. Not as sweet as some others. Something wild or funky in the aftertaste that I can’t place and not sure if I like...like a mild metally taste. Will try again. SynergyXJ (506), Blacksburg, Virginia, USA
