Commercial Description:
We are proud offer one of the few surviving examples of this traditional English style sweet stout. A bold, dark ale bursting with roasted barley dryness and mellowed by hints of chocolate and coffee.

12 oz bottle. I did not like this beer. Poured a dark body with brown head. Strong aroma of roastiness which I personally find unenjoyable. Taste is same.

I don’t know what it was, but this beer made me physically ill after the second sip. Maybe it was a bad bottle...

Chocolate, brown sugar and don’t forget about the nipple essence, oh I mean milk....a tinge of coffee presence on the aroma...actually smells of milk...crazy, like friggin milk....brown sugar foam, deep brown body, just about black...yet black is the absence of color, and I truly see a color!....coats the every crevice of possible mouth feel...chocolate, but not pure, bakers or carob powder....very simple construction, easy to drink stout....balanced just so....so it penetrates my appreciation

I did not like this very much, but I am not a fan of milk stouts. Initial strong taste of roasted malt. Has a sweeter aftertaste with some milkiness.

12 oz bottle. Had this after drinking a few lionshead pilsners. Nice dark color, decebt reddish head. The refreshing aroma of Chocolate/Coffee was welcoming. Interesting finish, but not perticularly good. An okay stout.

Aug 2005 - Beer poured dark brown with a nice reddish brown head. Aroma and taste was of dark roasted malt with some coffee and a touch of chocolate. Nice depth of flavor and complexity. Not as sweet as some others. Something wild or funky in the aftertaste that I can’t place and not sure if I like...like a mild metally taste. Will try again.

Bottle Black pour with nice head. Aroma of milkiness and some malt. Flavor follows accordingly. Smooth. Pretty good beer.
