Jan 18, 2007 On tap at the Independence "Brewpub" in the Philly Airport. (My flight was delayed, waht else do you expect me to be doing?)
Pours nealry opaque black with a 1/4 inch head that gets thin and wispy quick. No lace. Smells of mocha, roasty and sweet. Very roasty.
Taste brings the roastiness to the fore underpinned by just enough lactose to give some balancing sweetness. Mouth is perfect. Smooth, just the right amount of carbonation. Very drinkable, very balanced, just might be the perfect milk stout. I can think of none better that I have tasted.

Jan 2, 2007 12 oz bottle. Pours black with a small tan/light brown head. Soft carbonation. Aroma is chocolate, coffee, malts. Taste is light roast, some chocolate, notes of milk, lactose. Body is a bit thin, but is slightly creamy. light astringent/roasty finish. OK.

Dec 28, 2006 Not sure how i missed this one for so long. Poured a dark brown color with nice dark head. Aroma was of roasted malts, smokey chocolate. Flavor was much the same not overly sweet very well balanced. Good beer.

Dec 11, 2006 Updated: Jan 28, 2009Re- rate. Pours a shimmering black with a dense head. Nose of dark sweet malts with at hint of charcoal. A hint of coffe after the first sip. A bit thinner than I remember, but a pick from my folks after they went to Wegeman’s for an impromptu beer tasting this past weekend. Tah-dah.... they brought a sixer of this home with them.
Very Creamy nearly whipped body. sweet upfront and crisp and coffee bitter to end.

Milk stout aroma, with subtle fruit hints.
Milk stout taste, but a little light and has something else in there too…

Dec 8, 2006 Smooth, easy stout taste with coffee and cream afterwards. Nothing really jumps out, but nothing is really supposed to. Overall, I’d recommend it.

Dec 5, 2006 Poured nearly black with a medium, quickly dissipating head. Aroma is chocolate malt and roasted grains. Flavor of coffee, sweet malts, chocolate. Creamy, full body. Very enjoyable.

Dec 5, 2006 A beautiful milky exerience. When I was a kid and the grown ups told me to drink my milk I may have if this was it (and if I was a child alcoholic I guess) Pours a beautiful black with a coffe colored head. Delicious roasted coffee aroma. The taste: Again, roasted malt/coffee/and cream with a hint of chocolate. Starbucks could sell this and make a killing. This is one type of beer I don’t drink enough.
