We are proud offer one of the few surviving examples of this traditional English style sweet stout. A bold, dark ale bursting with roasted barley dryness and mellowed by hints of chocolate and coffee.

My first milk stout but my third sweet stout. Not too much aroma. For some reaon I was expecting a somewhat sweeter brew. I guess stout is stout, milk or sweet, it still has a background bitterness to it. Had a very slight sense of smokeyness or burnt background in there. This stout is mild compared to the bitterness of Lion stout. Overall it is not an offensive brew. Has a roasty linger on the finish that lasts for a while.

Dark brown pour with large tan head although no lacing. Aroma is lightly roasty, lightly chocolatey. Palate is very smooth but a little watery. Flavor has a dry roastiness and some chocolate, but kinda plain.

Deep, Deep Brown, almost black pour with a thin lighter brown head that dissapated quickly. Unique hints in the aroma, mostly roasted malts....But there is a not quite coffee, not quite chocolate, not quite molassas hint. Very Pleasent, needs to be a bit bolder in the aroma. Weak nose on this, medium bodied. The malts are quite over powering after nose until finish. A slight coffee flavor. the Finish is slow and leaves a slight aftertaste. Pleasent, not the best sweet stout I’ve had, but good.

This beer is definatly pleasing to drink. However, it’s not as strong as I would have liked. It has a good feel. Almost as smooth as a glass of milk.
