Tasted pretty standard for a stout but with a sweet and sour end to it. A bit different, definetly worth a try. beerbill (1976), Laurel, New York, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 26, 2005 Thanks to Dorwart for the trade. Deep black with a compact dark beige head. Lacing is thin with sheeting action. Aroma of espresso and nuts. Rich smooth body with a semi-sweet flavor of milk chocolate and coffee primarily. Some malt and hops in the background too. The finish is sweet and a little chalky at first, but more cocoa-like later. Pretty enjoyable when all is said and done. 9er (29), Delaware, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 25, 2005 This bitter-sweet stout was metalic with an aftertaste and mild carbonation. The lingering aftertaste is a bit milky and lingers ike cold coffee. Only slightly sweet and mostly hop-heavy with a hint of alcohol on the buds. TomDecapolis (3208), Skippack, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 15, 2005 On tap at the brewery. Pours a dark almost black with some amber when held up to the light. Head was tan and laced nicely. Aroma was lactose and roasted malts. A light in the aroma overall. Flavor is coffee and lactose. Almost like a chilled coffee with cream and a little dark chocolate in the tail. One of the better sweet stouts I’ve had, sometimes the lactose ruins these for me. This was nicely balanced. | 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Oct 6, 2005 Stouts always look good, hey they’re black and opaque. This one had a small tan head. It also had a metalic taste followed by an unpleasant bitterness. It did not seem true to style. It wasn’t smooth and lacked the characteristic lactose sweetness of a milk stout. agl108 (509), Manayunk, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Oct 5, 2005 12 oz bottle. Pours jet black with a finger sized light brown head. Aroma was minimal but I detected roastiness and a trace of chocolate. Thin body and finished with a sour taste that completely ruined the beer. I tried this a little over a year ago and didn’t recall it being this bad. I think there may have been something wrong with this bottle. IMtheOptimator (1161), Bethel, Connecticut, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 26, 2005 Poured dark brown with a fizzy brown head. Aroma of chocolate, grass, and some acidity. Taste seems thin, grassy, perhaps burnt... like watered-down coffee grounds and charcoal. Certainly not what I expect from a sweet stout. Average body. Not sure if this is a bad bottle or not.
