Commercial Description:
We are proud offer one of the few surviving examples of this traditional English style sweet stout. A bold, dark ale bursting with roasted barley dryness and mellowed by hints of chocolate and coffee.

very unique and nicely brewed beer. It has depth w/out being overbearing. Great with a meal or AS a meal. one of the most lovely milk stouts I’ve tried to date.

Pours an opaque jet black with a small amount of creamy tan head that stays. Aroma is coffee, light chocolate, and nutty and very very rich. Flavor is roasted nuts but smoother and creamier than expected. Finish is extremely dry. Overall, a pretty good stout that I could see being a session beer.

Bottle. Wonderful black color with a tan head. Very malty aroma. A noticible amount of chocolate malt. Creamy feel and a nice smooth finish.

(Bottle) Pours a black (opaque) body with an average light brown head. Aroma of lactic, roasted malt, coffee, and chocolate. Creamy mouthfeel. Flavor of milkiness, coffee, roasted malt, and some chocolate.

Thanks willblake for the bottle! Beautiful opaque dark brown with a massive tan head with great longevity--some decent lace as well. The nose is fabulous with black patent malt character to the front along with a sweet, sugary nose--Like cream soda with chocolate and khalua added. The taste is strikingly different than the nose--a sour acid bite with perhaps some tannins from the grain? The mouthfeel is thinner than expected and the finish is bitter and almost seems dry. Not particularly my cup of tea, but the smell and appearance of this beer are fabulous!

Wonderful brown head with black body. The aroma is a blend of caramel and a roasted scent. The taste starts sweet (although less sweet then I thought it would taste) and ends with a coffee bitterness.
