| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 23, 2004 Bottle pours black with brown hues, small tan colored frothy head, with spotty lacing. Semi sweet chocolate, cocoa, and roasted malts on the nose. Somewhat chalky, flavors of prune, slight soy, bakers chocolate, and slightly sour. Medium body, slightly thin mouthfeel. Finishes slightly dry, some sourness, with roasted malts and unsweetened chocolate. Not bad, could be sweeter, nothing compared to the likes of 8 Ball or Shakespeare. Thanks goes out to slob for the trade!

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 11, 2004 Opaque black with some ruby tont arount the edges. Fizzy tan head dissapates quicly but leaves a thin layer. Grapey, vinous nose has hints of chocolate malt. Thin bodied and quite carbonated. Not much flavor besides the roastiness mixing with the lactic acid, but that is what is expected. Actually refreshing. Gets fluffy and billowy as it warms and becomes more roasty and dry. jasonp (1514), Sterling/Dulles, Virginia, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Sep 10, 2004 Pours black with a light brown head. Aroma is of roasted malt. Taste is of chocolate, coffee and roastiness. Taste ends with a very unpleasant sourness/tart flavor. Not that sweet, mouthfeel is very thin and watery. This one didn’t agree with me at all. I see everyone else’s rating is higher so maybe I got a shitty bottle? Possible future re-rate. jsquire (2123), St. Marys, Ohio, USA

Very smooth, creamy mouthfeel with flavors of milk chocolate and some roast coffee in the finish. Nice beer. veronika (410), Sweden
