A nice blend of Guinness and Young’s Chocolate Stout. I had this on draft at the brewery. I think that this easily could compete with any major-branded stout. italarican (170), Astoria, New York, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 19, 2009 Pours a dark chocolate brown with fizzy caramelized head. Nice lacing. Aroma of cocoa powder, maple, coffee, and roasted malt. Very nutty flavor rich of roasted malt. Slightly sweet but smoky palate. Slightly creamy mouthfeel. Flavor doesn’t reveal as much complexity as I expected from the aroma and first sip. Still very solid nonetheless. kuphish (161), Bloomington, Indiana, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Aug 2, 2009 Bottle. Deep, dark motor oil pour. Black, completely opaque body. Large, creamy, pitted, brown head. Aroma is of roast, coffee, slight sourness, and a touch of chocolate. Flavor exposes some mild roast, acidic sourness, and some sweetness. Mildly carbonated, medium, creamy body. Sweet up front with a mildly bitter finish. Overall not bad, but I don’t need another. jport4087 (95), Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Jul 27, 2009 On nitro. Wonderfful sweet aroma that hinted of chocolate and coffee. Drinkability high as there was a nice balance between the creamy sweetness and the roasted grains. I could have drunk many more of these creamy bad boys. grandet (486), Scranton, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jun 17, 2009 Transfering from tasting notes. Bottle. Poured a dark black color with a small head. Aroma is roasty, sweet and chocolate. Taste is somewhat off. Almost too sweet and carbonated on the mouth. Not bad but not great. kopher (305), New York, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jun 8, 2009 dark, almost black, minimal tan head.
roasty aroma, a bit sour, with some cheese in the back.
flavor is similar, a bit too sour (like from burnt malt), and a bit of creamyness i suppose.
overcarbonated, this is a bit unpleasant, though not terrible.

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 3, 2009 Aroma is of chocolate but flavor is a lot sweeter than I expected and roasted malt flavor not as prevalent either... Black in color with minimal tannish head.... Can taste some milkiness and a ton of sweetness... Palate is of roasted malts with hints of sugar... Interesting stout, but very nontraditional... Had better... runandrow (8), Pennsylvania, USA does not count | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 22, 2009 On Nitro. Poured a dark brown with a thick creamy tan head typical of beers on nitro. Flavor is a smooth, sweet, with hints of chocolate and caramel malts, nice finishing hops, and a creamy after taste. I prefer this beer not on nitro and the on tap version is better then the bottled version
