A little sweet for my taste, but I spent 5 years living in Lancaster, so I have a special place in my heart for thier beers and especially their flagship" milk stout crazyvin (1254), New York, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 15, 2009 A black body with a thin tan head. Aroma was of mild roast notes. Flavor was sweet and somewhat roasted. It was rather mellow. Still a decent beer. A nice Smooth creamy feel to it. ScoWRee (276), Phila, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Jan 8, 2009 Pours a deep dark brown, almost black, with a thick tan head. Aroma of roasted malt a hint of vanillia. Taste is roasty, coffee. Not real heavy in flavor. It has a slight flavor of something I can’t indentify. I’ll probably put my finger on it when I’m in bed tonight....... fakepurseninja (791), Washington, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 8, 2009 Light semi-sweet dark chocolate notes with lightly roasted coffee beans and a silky lactose character. Some light nut and vanilla beats in there as well. lithy (1800), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 1.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 1/10 | 1/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 8/20 | Jan 6, 2009 Bottle thanks to nearbeer. Endless gusher, surely infected. A glass full of light tan foam settles to an ugly murky brown with clumpy brown floaties. Ammonia aroma. Taste is lightly roasted malt, with some milk stout creaminess but it is buried by the problems in the beer. Needs a rerate. Dacrza (253), Great Meadows, New Jersey, USA
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jan 3, 2009 Cold black body with a coffee gray two-finger head that settles nicely in a Guiness glass--attractive and pours as expected... dairy scents, yes--soft waves of vanilla and sugar also arrest the nostrils...pleasantly smooth in aroma and palate... lactic attack on the throat; the tongue buzzes with life and smooths out in its aftertaste... much smokier than expected for a milk stout... the dairy aspects are understated, the hops a bit hoppier at the roof of the mouth... mellow by its finish with a smooth milkiness--complex... not surprised by its quality, but this Lancaster brew actually behaves with more attitude than I expected: more toasted and sweet qualities with a pleasant finish nonetheless--a well done beer that rounds out a solid sampler from PA... | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 2, 2009 Pours a black beer with a faded head. Moderate roasty aroma with hint of malt ball and lactose. Full-bodied. Decent melt of malt, roast barley, coffee and a touch of lactose. A somewhat grainy mouthfeel, probably from the lactose. A solid milk stout with a fine complexity of roastiness and a good sweet lactose counterbalance. Somewhat dry on the finish. SQNfan (591), Wheaton, Illinois, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 26, 2008 This poured dark brown in color with a thin light brown head that fades away. The nose shows off milk, chocolate and coffee. In the mouth this was medium-bodied and semi-smooth with lots of carbonation.
