The taste is smooth with tastes of milk and toffee, while the qualities of a stout are not very noticable this milk stout offers a relax sweet treat.

Yummmmmmmmmm!
A gentle soft sweetness and opaque espresso like color even when held to sunlight .
I wish more stouts were like this one ...
I mean,... this is another type of stout than is a Guinness or a Murphy's but... this is sooo sooo much better than they overall I promise you .
This is a new-world stout, one that leads the way to better drinking better tasting stout .
Now, if I could just get a full case of it... only was able to get 6 out of the Lancaster sampler ...
Cheers

Great with a meal or AS a meal. one of the most lovely milk stouts I’ve tried to date. cthomasesq (2), Pennsylvania, USA does not count | 4.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Jul 11, 2005 I’ve had this brew both on draught and bottled. Dark (almost black) in color, with a highly contrasting white head. Creamy in texture, with flavors of coffee and chocolate. Extremely satisfying. I hope to see more such creations from this less recognized PA brewery. this Sweet Stout is brewed with lactose and is free of preservatives as the label assures you. upon opening i notice a distinct dark roasted coffee bean aroma. pours fairly thick, dark brown to black. generous tan/brown head, thick with fluffy, silky formations, lumps of fluff if you will. unique in appearance. bonus. flavor to match the aroma, with a bittersweet/sour aftertaste courtesy of the lactose. scores very high for uniqueness, again. in the palate it could be a little thicker, but the perfect constistency and amount of carbonation makes up for this after a second in the mouth. overall an excellent stout. i eagerly anticipate more such quality brews from Lancaster. slimjim (106), New Jersey, USA

Aroma is fantastic - like coffee ice cream on steroids. Pours and looks great. Has an oily feel to it, more like a porter than a stout. That sweet burnt milk flavor underlines the coffee, somewhat hoppy flavor. Finish is consistent with the start. Still a great beer.
