| 1.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 1/10 | 2/5 | 2/20 | May 20, 2009 Sampler, at Lancaster location. Pours a clear dark gold body with a small wispy white head. The nose is just terrible. Super buttery with just a touch of earthy rye and some honey sweetness. Reminds me of buttered cornbread. The flavor is just ruined by the buttery flavor that runs throughout. Can’t even taste any hops or rye at all. Mouthfeel is light to medium bodied with soft fizzy carbonation and a slick sticky finish. Terrible. There’s an obvious brewing flaw at work here, I can’t understand why they would serve this. lb4lb (2011), Austin, Texas, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | May 5, 2009 Bottle free from thickfreakness. Thanks man! Pours golden to amber with a creamy offwhite head. Smell is yeasty and malty and not too appealing. Taste is cheap syrupy malt and an unpleasant goopy doughiness about it. No obvious rye flavor and its fairly watery too. Thin body, crisp carbonation. obxdude10 (1563), Pottstown, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Apr 26, 2009 This beer was a little suprising. I was thinking it was going to be a darker color with more body and lots of rye flavor. But it really wasn’t. It poured a golden color with a white head and good lacing. The nose featured a little breadiness and rye tones. The body was a little lighter than expected, but had some good rye notes and flavors to it. The flavors also contained a little more breadiness but with quite a bit of hoppiness. The finish was crisp and refreshing, with a bit more hoppiness and rye. A pretty decent summer-type of beer. bigrond (1055), factoryville, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Apr 17, 2009 I’ve had only a few ’rye’ beers. This one was the poorest example. It was very malty and sweet. No real hint of even a little rye.
Low alcohol sealed the deal on this poor rating.

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Apr 14, 2009 This is different. Poured yellow with a white head. Aroma of rye bread and spice. Rye flavor with a hint of spice in the finish. Pretty tasty for 4%. Slamable. bubbleflubber (900), Collinsville, Virginia, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Feb 15, 2009 Pours orange-amber into the glass, with a thin head that leaves light soapy lace. I get some aromas of sour grains and silage. The description of "subtle rye" may be an overstatement. This is mostly macro, with some sour grains and corn notes. The finish might contain some of those subtle rye hints, but mostly retains the corn and sours. Mouthfeel is a tad watery, but it is drinkable. Not the worst thing I’ve ever had, but nothing spectacular. Rciesla (3865), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 5/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Feb 11, 2009 Bottle. Pours a amber body with a tan head. Aroma is more like lagered notes, vinegar and corn. Maybe a hint of rye. A corny hint of honey; malt up front with something drying maybe rye but i wouldnt have said that without it printed there. Some light lingering bitterness but not offensive. Very thin with no alcohol to finish. eh. CaptainCougar (5532), Rockville, Maryland, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 30, 2009 Transparent deep golden bronze with a thin, wispy-lacing white head. Aroma of toasty grainy rye and lightly sweet pale malts. Starts with average fullness some light sweetness and decent bittering hoppiness with good rye character. Finishes crisp and bittersweet with some light citrusy hop notes. A decent rye ale.
